    can anyone tell me how to reorient an axis with the help of a MEL command and meannig of dat command,as i'm jst a begginer or want to know abt dis rigging topic

    Here is a python command ...

    cmds.joint(edit=True, oj='xyz', sao='yup', ch=True)

    I think the MEL command isjoint -e -oj "xyz" -sao="yup" -ch 1;

    Check the mel and python command reference, they are actually very helpful if you use the search functionality on the top left of the page. You'll need to change the flags in that command to respect which way you want things oriented of course. Those commands both refer to the Skeleton - Orient Joint command in the UI, so you can use that and check the output of the script editor for guidance.

    Orienting joints is a pain, there isn't one magical command. If your joint has more than one child it will orient in ways that aren't very friendly. Like the chest joint for argument sake. The trick I like to use in those cases is to unparent both arms, align the chest to the neck with the `
    cmds.joint(edit=True, oj='xyz', sao='yup', ch=True), then re-parent the arms. A quick little def in python or proc in mel can handle that for most things.
