Hey guys! First of all, I love this site! And I'd like to be very active. So to start off, I thought I post an interactive post. No pressure for anyone to comment. There's no production thats about to fail if my post remains unanswered. This is STRICTLY for fun.

I found a way to animate blendshape weight maps without using plugins. It's not full proof. But it works.

It's in youtube and my site.

Check them out and see if you could figure it out. I will post a tutorial in two weeks time.

The technique would be applicable to more than just weights for blendshapes. It might even be possible to control weights for skinCluster joints. Some other possible applications would be blendshapes the way Eddie Murphy turned into nutty professor.

Thanks everyone!!!! Hope to hear from you!

    Nice

I can see you can get a lot out of it

They did a similar thing for morphing between wolverine and mystique in x-men

Hey Javier, now that you mention it, yeah. You are right. I never thought of it, but I guess, that's how they did it. But didn't they use a plugin for that?

Awesome site you have here. I've learned a lot!

    Very cool stuff,

The built in way is to the Paint BlendShape Weights tool and then use the "Key selected target shapes" and paint in the target.

I like that you used a wave defomrer, looking forward to finding out how you connected it in with out it showing up in the connection list
